The aim of the workshop is to give an introductory understanding of key concepts such astopology, information (in morphogenesis), redundancy and pluripotency as a mean to
undisclosedperformative potential through morphology, from biological development toarchitectural design, within a general framework of an ecology of design.
Efficiency and performance in nature are the result of processes of self-organization in
material systems which rely entirely on information exchange flows and the organization ofthese flows. Within such a framework, redundancy and flamboyancy coexist with optimizationat different scales, triggering emergent potential extra-qualities.
The use of digital tools is strongly and inevitably involved for their unique capacity to embedcomplexity in the design process via information flow management and rule-based patterns.
Participants will investigate specific geometric strategies such as those of lightweight andvoluptuous bodies: folds, frazzles and plications as a mean for efficiency and performance(structural, movement, thermal). Animation and other techniques will be used to tease outdifferentiations and gradients between key configurations (attractors), as well as exploring theemergence of complexity and effects out of simple starting elements.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to the fields of industrial design and the newest tools and strategies which has always been popular in industries that require high accuracy modeling like jewelry, industrial design, automotive design and marine design.
With the development and affordability of CAD/CAM machines and processes, students realized the new markets emerged in the field of industrial design.
Students Explored computational techniques in the context of industrial design and doing experiments with 3d studio MAX to investigate emergent properties and characteristics in computationally defined systems.

In 2S pace is a cutting-edge Workshop in Academia worldwide focusing exclusively on novel approaches to the [Architecture] emerging practice.
The workshop provided participants to discover this beautiful city with a professional vision about its architecture and culture. It provided also a unique opportunity to visit the most famous architecture studios and approach the foreign experience and its methodologies.
The workshop explored how a digital and technologies view of design could be implemented in a real scale built product.
The participants learnt how to prepare their designs to be fabricated by using laser cutter, CNC and related technologies and how the awareness of the fabrication process should affect their design process from the early beginning.
